The team at Manning Signs worked together creating 15 custom murals to brighten this freshly renovated cafeteria in San Marcos that serves kiddos of various ages. The client knew that they wanted a food pyramid theme, and that the design needed to meet a few specific needs. First, it needed to appeal to the younger kids without being too childish for the older kids. It also needed to be fun & bright, but not so much that it made the space feel chaotic, and simple enough that the staff could easily do touch-ups when there is inevitable damage.
The final series of murals not only meets these needs but also brings colorful cohesion to this large, open space and provides a snapshot of accessible healthy living for the kids that includes: whole foods, hydration, exercise, mental health/positivity, and moderation.
Note: We do not typically paint during active construction due to dust and high risk of surface damage, but we occasionally make an exception to accommodate a schedule shift/conflict.
