The Wayside
Brand Identity, Logo Application, Interior Mural
The Wayside was an empty Texaco filling station where owner Caleb Moreno wanted to bring a new bar concept to his hometown of Seguin, TX. The building had history baked into the foundation, and our job was to breathe life into it with a fresh brand that felt both rooted and playful. We crafted a visual identity that’s welcoming and unpretentious; something that speaks to the locals, while drawing in curious passersby. The logo brings together retro charm with a wink of whimsy, tied together with a custom mascot doubling as both a friendly face and a nod to the locale.
From there, we got to realize the brand identity through hand-painted signage and an interior ghost mural—faded, and distressed to feel like it's been there for decades. Every detail was designed to echo the space’s past while creating something fresh for the community. The result is a neighborhood bar with real character—affordable, laid-back, and full of hospitality. Just the way Seguin likes it.
